Tim has been a dairy farmer on the family farm since 1993.  Before that his family raised hogs, sheep, emus, dairy calves, finished out beef cattle and his dad, Hubert worked construction.

Although the dairy did not start on this land in Silex until 1993, the dairy business is in the family history.  Tim's grandpa, Hubert Strickland known as "Dick", had a dairy farm in Winfield during the 1940's and 50's called the "Golden L" dairy.  Hubert and his sister Aunt Diedre still talk about helping to deliver milk to the customer's door step in glass bottles.

There are still a few milk bottles around from the Golden L Dairy.  There is a bottle cap from the dairy in a display case in Imo's Pizza in Troy.  Look for it near the buffet.

In 1999 Tim married Becky and they started their family.  The children have their own job title:  Official puppy socializer and pooper scoopers!

In 2006 the farm began the three year transition to an organic dairy.  In 2009 we became an official certified "organic" dairy.  At one time we were milking 160 head of cows but have since dropped back to 70 depending on when the cows calve.

Today, the dairy farm shares the land with Tenderheart Kennels, owned and operated by Tim's parents, Sharon and Hubert Lavy.  You can check out the puppies on the kennel website: or on their Facebook page.

We have built a cheese plant and have started making cheese.  We named the cheese plant after Tim's grandfather's dairy.  Check out our website:
